Master Your Lifts with CrossFit Brighton: Detailed Olympic Lifting Techniques

🏋️ Elevate your lifting game at CrossFit Brighton! Whether you're new to the sport or looking to refine your skills, our comprehensive guide to the snatch and clean & jerk has everything you need to excel. 💥

🔹 The Snatch: This lift involves pulling the barbell from the ground to overhead in one fluid motion. Key steps include the setup, first pull, transition, second pull, and catch. Focus on keeping the bar close to your body and using your hips for power.

🔹 The Clean & Jerk: This two-part lift starts with the clean, where you pull the barbell from the ground to your shoulders. The jerk involves driving the barbell overhead. Key steps include the setup, first pull, transition, second pull, and catch for the clean, followed by the dip, drive, and lockout for the jerk.

🔹 Common Errors:

Snatch: Rounding the back, lifting with the arms, and not getting under the bar quickly enough.
Clean & Jerk: Poor front rack position, pressing the bar overhead instead of jerking, and improper foot placement.

🔹 Drills for Skill Development:

Snatch: Snatch grip deadlifts, snatch pulls, and overhead squats.
Clean & Jerk: Front squats, clean pulls, and jerk drives.

Mastering the snatch and clean & jerk requires patience, practice, and attention to detail.
