After graduating from the University of Michigan, I was fortunate enough to embark on a journey in professional hockey, playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, and Atlanta Thrashers over twelve years. Throughout my career, I valued the importance of off-ice strength and conditioning to help me succeed on the ice. It wasn't until I retired that I fully grasped the transformative power of CrossFit. Reflecting on my hockey days, I wish I had this type of training during my playing days.   The intensity, efficacy, and longevity benefits of CrossFit immediately resonated with me. Its simplicity, paired with its effectiveness in working major muscle groups through functional movements, proved to be a game-changer. CrossFit not only filled the void left by my professional sports career but also reignited my passion for team camaraderie and shared goals. Being part of a community of like-minded, dedicated people pushing boundaries has been immensely rewarding.  I am motivated by witnessing individuals surpassing their expectations, thanks to the power of a supportive group.  Seeing people achieve their goals that once seemed impossible fuels my passion for this gym. CrossFit isn't just a workout – It’s who we are.  I am truly grateful to be a part of this community.

After enduring a few surgeries and some aches and pains, I found myself waking up each morning feeling achy and tight at just 35 years old. I was not ready to accept this as my new normal, I decided to get back in the gym and that is when I found CrossFit.  Despite warnings about weightlifting post-back surgery, I gradually reintroduced weightlifting back into my routine.  Not only did my back feel better, I felt stronger and overall healthier.  This was my turning point.
